What is microsurgical embryonic fragment removal?

 

It is a recurrent laboratory technique used in IVF processes that consists of making a small hole in the protective layer of the embryo (called zona pellucida). Fragments are then aspirated to improve the chances of embryo development.

 

When is it recommended?

 

It is recommended when the fragment content in the embryo is more than 30%.
